2026 Men’s NCAA Tournament Projections: Can Indiana Give the Big Ten 10 Bids?

Will the Indiana Hoosiers be dancing this March? According to the latest NCAA Tournament projections from FOX Sports bracket forecaster Mike DeCourcy, the Big Ten Conference currently has nine teams in his projected field. Only the SEC has more, leading the way with 10 bids. But that gap could disappear quickly if Indiana finds a way to boost its résumé this week. The Hoosiers enter this week’s Big Ten Tournament squarely on the bubble after finishing the regular season 18-13 overall and 9-11 in conference play, good for the No. 10 seed. Their postseason begins Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ET against the winner of Northwestern and Penn State. If the Hoosiers can string together a few wins in Chicago, they could turn a nervous bubble week into a trip to the Big Dance. No. 1 seeds 1. Duke2. Michigan3. Arizona4. Florida No. 2 seeds 5. According to DeCourcy’s seed list, Indiana, Auburn, Virginia Tech and San Diego State are the first four teams out of the tournament, while Cal, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State and Seton Hall are the next four out. Selection Sunday is less than one week away, and this list will inevitably evolve. For now, DeCourcy’s latest seed list offers a clear snapshot of who’s rising, who’s falling and which programs are already building the résumés they’ll need when March Madness arrives.
