The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has appointed Mr. Deolu Ijose as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer following a reconstitution of its Board of Directors.
Mr. Ijose succeeds Engr. Francis Agoha, FNSE, and brings extensive experience in Nigeria’s power sector, having previously served as Managing Director of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) and as Chief Commercial Officer at IBEDC. His prior tenure within the company is expected to ensure continuity in operations and ongoing reforms.
The IBEDC Board expressed confidence in his ability to consolidate existing gains while enhancing operational and commercial performance.
Reacting to his appointment, Mr. Ijose said, “I am honoured to lead IBEDC at this critical time. We will build on the foundation already in place by prioritising operational efficiency, strengthening commercial discipline, and delivering improved service to our customers.” He added that teamwork, accountability, and commitment to excellence would drive the company’s progress.
The appointment reflects IBEDC’s commitment to improving electricity supply, enhancing stakeholder engagement, investing in infrastructure, and leveraging technology to deliver better service and value to customers and the Nigerian economy.
